Maria Sundin
Dr. Maria Sundin is employed at the Department
of Physics and Engineering Physics at Göteborg
University and Chalmers University of Technology,
where she teaches astronomy and physics. Her research
is focussed on numerical simulations of barred spiral
galaxies and interacting galaxies. She has especially
studied the stellar orbital structure of the bar,
and bar-induced mass relocation. She has also a
large interest in popularizing astronomy.
Dr. Sundin received her Ph.D. in 1994 at Göteborg
University, under the guidance of the late Björn
Sundelius. She has since been working as a lecturer
and researcher at Göteborg University. She
grew up in Göteborg, and attended Chalmers.
