Salvatore Scuderi
Salvatore Scuderi got his master degree in physics
in 1989 at the University of Catania working on
the properties of stellar winds of early type stars.
In 1990 he was admitted at the graduated courses
of the University
of Catania and obtained his Ph.D. in 1994. From
March 1994 until March 1996 he was an ESA fellow
at the Space Telescope
Science Institute. Since July 1995 is staff
astronomer at the Catania
Astrophysical Observatory (Italy). He is currently
involved in projects dealing with studies of stellar
winds of early type stars, young stellar population
in nearby galaxies, supernovae environments, and
search for extrasolar planets. Furthermore he works
actively in the field of astronomical instrumentation.
In particular, characterization of CCD detectors,
development detectors for UV astronomy and realization
of instrumentation (like the SARG high resolution
spectrograph) for the Italian
National Telescope Galileo (Canary Islands,
Spain).
