pairing of astronomical objects that also played an important
role in a major astronomical debate in the 20th century.
Although this debate is now resolved to the satisfaction
of the vast majority of astronomers, the history of the
debate is an excellent illustration of the dynamism of the
scientific method where opinion and hypotheses must eventually
defer to the accumulation of data and experiment."

Keith Noll is the principle investigator
for the Hubble Heritage Project. He received his Ph.D. from
the University at Stony Brook in New York under the direction
of Roger Knacke, the guest astronomer
for the Hubble Heritage Release of NGC 4319. |
