Massimo Robberto

(Space Telescope Science Institute/European Space Agency)

I am an Astronomer at the Space Telescopes Division of the European Space Agency. I am currently appointed to the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) to work within the Instrument Division as Instrument Scientist for the Wide Field Camera 3. I am an expert on Infrared instrumentation, and my main research interest is Star Formation, the Orion Nebula in particular. Currently, my main scientific projects are: (1) AMICO (ACS Multicolor Imaging of the Cluster in Orion). I am Principal Investigator of a Treasury program awarded with 104 orbits of HST time in Cycle 13 for the study of the Orion Nebula Cluster; and (2) the Hubble Ultra Deep Field (HUDF). I am leading the team working on the NICMOS parallel observations. These are the deepest images ever obtained of the Universe at near-Infrared wavelengths.
