Appreciating Comet ISON From Afar

Ground-based image of Comet ISON taken November 15, 2013
Image used with permission of Damian Peach.

Even though the Hubble Space Telescope can take awesome images of Comet ISON, right down to the very center of its nucleus, comets are most appealing from a wide-angle view. This image, taken by astrophotographer Damian Peach, give us the most stunning view thus far of Comet ISON. Hoping that it will make a big splash as a naked eye comet, this photo lends a huge thumbs up to the potential for ISON to be memorable as well as photogenic. Congratulations to Damian for such a great catch!
