While he studies stars in space,
she enters like a long held note:

a question for an answer?

What gushes to the surface
dries then dissipates?

A water puzzle to scratch
the surface of,
a crust, just crumbs for
hungry birds?

Wish upon them if you must -

in the dark
she asks for more:

La belle, le noyau?
la belle, le noyau.

la belle, le noyau.
the beautiful one
